Providing International Students with Family-like Support!

Akamonkai Japanese Language School was established in July 1985 in front of the Akamon gate of the University of Tokyo.

At present, the school has 2 school buildings located in Tokyo's Nippori, several student dormitories near the campuses and is a traditional Japanese language school where around 1,200 students from 40 countries study regularly.

Akamonkai offers a "General Course," "University Preparatory Curriculum", "Business Employment Course", "Short-term Course" and "Special Short Programs". A specialist instructor is assigned to each course, and the curriculum is designed to most efficiently and effectively achieve the goals of each course, without excessive focus on and adherence to existing curriculums.

In addition, in recent years, in particular, Akamonkai has designed its curriculum and operated its courses based on new curriculum in newly created "special advances classes" and "business employment classes" to suit the needs of international students, providing all-around support from entrance to the school through to graduation. These efforts have earned praise and we have been hailed as a Japanese language school that excels at total balance. At Akamonkai, all our outstanding staff provide the fullest support possible to allow all enrolled students to achieve their goals with an aim to fostering human resources who can act and be successful globally.

Akamonkai Japanese Language School

Marina (France)

My level was Beginner 1 when I entered the school, and I am now Intermediate 2. I have already passed N3 and am planning to take N2 this year.
When students enter Akamonkai at the beginner level, they have tests about three weeks after the program starts and are divided into classes with varying speeds of progression. I was put into the fast progression class and am currently working hard towards my goal of entering university. For different students with different study abroad goals, this system with varying progression speeds makes it easy for each individual to study Japanese in the way most effective for their goals.

Akamonkai Japanese Language School

Alessandro (Italy)

I learned about the Toyota Production System during my time in university in Italy and, finding myself interested in the workplace improvement process, decided to look for work in Japan.
The things I learned in the manners class of the Business Class proved useful in a number of situations during my job hunting. I applied to around 30 different companies in industries where I thought I could put my expertise to use and was able to receive an offer from Yamaha.
I would like all those interested in working in Japan to forget about the barrier of culture and language and not be afraid to make an attempt.

Akamonkai Japanese Language School

Tzu Hui (Taiwan)

After consulting with my teachers at Akamonkai and having them look at my EJU results, I decided to apply to Shizuoka University.
My teachers gave me a lot of useful information, such as university acceptance rates and past exam questions, and repeatedly helped me refine my essay and practice for the interview. I believe that practicing how to answer questions that are likely to be asked during the interview is very important.
Thanks to their help, I was able to find a good balance between study and play while making my own schedule.
