Hokkaido was settled over 150 ago by Tondenhei Soldiers who were gathered by the Japanese government to protect and develop the area. As a result, most people speak beautiful Japanese and regional dialects are few despite its location. Teachers have various teaching styles. Some are a little stricter, while others are kind and gentle. I began to think of my teachers as my family. I felt comfortable talking to teachers not only about my studies but also about my life. I love how students from all over the world study together in the same class. At first, I was worried I would not make any friends, but I was completely wrong. Everyone is very nice and friendly, so making friends is easy. At first, kanji was very difficult for me. However, since teachers have many techniques to teach the kanji, I was able to become confident in my kanji. I am glad I have chosen this school!

Students take a placement test, so everyone can join the class that is most suitable for their level. The school also offers a JLPT preparatory class for students who want to go to vocational schools or university. Students can find part-time jobs on a bulletin board, and the teachers help them write a resume. The whole process is very helpful. Only speaking Japanese in class, coupled with daily homework and weekly quizzes, forced my Japanese to improve very quickly.
